FOREST GROVE LIONS CLUB
FUNDRAISING PROJECTS
We raise money in our community to give back to our community. This is how we do it.

ANNUAL 10K & 5K RUN & WALK FOR SIGHT & HEARING
Our major yearly fundraiser "runs" our service opportunities.
Business and individual sponsorship levels range from $250 to $2,500 opportunities and pay the costs of advertising, professional timing, tee shirts, insurance and other costs related to our run/walk. The club is fortunate to enjoy major sponsor, “headliner” Doherty Ford, which contributed substantially to the success of our event. Receipts from sponsorships and registration fees generate the funds we later donate to Pacific University’s Optometry and Audiology schools to provide eyeglasses and hearing aids for people in need.

STARS & STRIPES FLAG DAY PROGRAM
Old Glory. All over town.
We sell yearly contracts to downtown businesses to provide, place and retrieve American Flags for all-day display in front of their businesses on the Martin Luther King, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Patriot Day, Veterans Day and Pearl Harbor Day patriotic holidays. Club members work in four teams of two to set our 114 flags early on the morning of each holiday, and retrieve and store them before dark at the end of the day.

ROSE DAY SALE
Everything's coming up roses.
Each spring, members sell and deliver many orders of a dozen lovely and carefully boxed long-stem roses to friends, family, businesses, schools and other local entities. The roses are provided by a wholesale floral distributor located in our region. As in all of our public fundraising projects, 100% of monies received through this program are used to support people in need and benefit our community.
FEES, FINES AND FUN
It's just fine by us.
Funds raised for club administration may be used to benefit the public, but are never obtained from the public. All our administrative funds come directly and willingly from Forest Grove Lions members only.
Administrative costs are funded through annual dues, private fundrasing activity limited to Lions Club members and their spouses, and other individual contributions.Modest sums are contributed by Lions at weekly club meetings through small "fines" we levy ourselves for amusing "offenses," 50/50 raffles, and Happy Bucks announcements.
